A Scriptural Review of the ALPHA Program
The Unscriptural Rebuilding of the Earthly & Lost Old Nature

They themselves challenge us to 'look into' their program - I did, and here is what I have found!
There is a program traveling across the nation and the world that makes Promise Keepers look like a Sunday School program.  It is called ALPHA.

Not only can we learn about ALPHA, we can learn 'from' ALPHA.  ALPHA is nothing but modern Christianity put into a single program.  Studying about ALPHA is studying about 'religion' in America.  If you want to know what your neighbor is thinking about God, etc. then a brief review of ALPHA will give you everything you need to know about them!

It was started by Charles Markham, (who was an Anglican in the United Kingdom) in a home church in 1976 and has gone from 500 in 1991 to over 2 million in the year 2000 and is being presented all around the world.  There are over 17,000 individual courses being taught right now - all using the NIV perversion!

It is billed as a Practical Introduction to the Christian Faith!

First of all and allow me to put it simply - compared to the Scriptures, ALPHA is a lie.  It is not 'practical' and it is not the true Biblical 'Christian Faith' that Paul preached.  It is not the Jesus Christ of the Bible that people receive! The Scriptures will once again do its job and prove that unsaved people involved with ALPHA receive another spirit, another Jesus and that any truly saved people are being preached another gospel - a perverted gospel, exactly as Paul warned about!
Galatians 1:6,7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
II Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
People are "bearing with" this program all over the country!
It is not 'non-denominational,' it is 'all denominational!'

(If you are any kind of student of the Scriptures, you will understand the deceptiveness of this program.  You won't find these details anywhere, by the way, unless you subscribe to the program.  They do a pretty good job of hiding their teaching to the outside - and I don't wonder why, either.  I have read their very own materials in order to preach this particular warning!)

What is ALPHA?
    A = "Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith."(What a lie about what is the Christian faith - read on and see why I make that statement)
    L = "Learning and Laughter.  It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to have fun at the same time."  (There it is again - who says singing the old godly hymns and hearing hard straight to the point preaching and biblical doctrine is NOT fun?  Only 'unsaved' people find 'a scripturally proper church' unfun!)
    P= One flyer says P means Pasta, food is always included (that must be for the baptists!) Another flyer says P means People meeting one another.  An opportunity to get to know others and to make new friends. (That is good to have friends - but we have to be careful in our friends - we are not to have fellowship with the unsaved, etc.  Ya, that goes over really well in modern Christianity when we talk like that; however it is still true - they err not knowing the Scriptures! See II Corinthians 6:14 for a start!)
    H = Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks.  (It is great to help one another, but again, we see the getting away from the 'church' concept - and having 'talks' instead of 'preaching!')
    A = Ask anything.  Alpha is a place where no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.  (Sure - unless you are a KJB believer.  Unless one is a Bible Believing Preacher!  I can't wait to hear any response from anyone who is taking or has taken the Alpha course or who is teaching it.  We'll see!  We all are familiar with the anger that we receive when we 'ask' people anything about the Scriptures; we are familiar with how people really either skirt the issues or ignore us totally.  I hope someone familiar with ALPHA does write to me.  I will be nice and as compassionate as possible.  We will just sit down with our Bibles and do some page flipping and of course, RIGHTLY DIVIDING!  They won't last long before they get angry or get right!

Who is ALPHA for?
    People interested in investigating Christianity.
    Newcomers to the church.
    New Christians.
    Couples preparing for marriage.
    Christians who want to brush up on the basics.

In other words, ALPHA is for people who don't know the Scriptures, because if they did, they would know the dangers and damnation regarding the ALPHA teachings!

Quote:  "We go from singing about God to singing to God - old to modern!  A 'new song' means new instruments and new styles of music."

Quote:  "Billy Graham is the greatest evangelist.  An Alpha brochure said until he was filled, did he get moving for God - that he claims the prayer of Jacob - "I wouldn't let God go until I was filled!"

Quote:  "Salvation is forgiveness of sins."

The Bible - ALPHA presents the "Bible" from a historical view and they also present the contradictions and difficulties of the Bible.  Pg 21 - manual   (I didn't know there were any!!!!!!!!!!!)  ALPHA does not teach literal reading of the Bible.  (They wouldn't dare if they even could!  ALPHA would not exist!)

Receiving the Holy Spirit - ALPHA teaches that the Holy Spirit is received in Water Baptism and Communion. That is totally against the Scriptures - TOTALLY!

Catholics have their own separate version of ALPHA.  OF COURSE THEY DO! They won't budge a bit during all this ecumenical stuff.  The mother ship - the whore of Babylon is behind all this stuff!

Baptism, according to ALPHA manual page 64 is:
    Cleansing from Sin - I Corinthians 6:11
    Incorporation into CHrist death and resurrection - Romans 6:3-5; Col 2:12
    Sealing of the Holy Spirit - I Corinthians 12:13
        (Keep in mind, these churches are talking about 'water baptism' - no wonder the denominations all fit together so good.  But what are Baptists doing in there?)

Healing Examples:  Iraneus; Origin; Augustine, the Gospels.
    Need any Bible Believer need to see the dangers of using those as examples of healing?

They use the Great Commission of Matthew 28, and finally, we see the fruit of the past years claiming Matthew 28 as the great commission in the Baptist churches!

Speaking in Tongues - ALPHA teaches people to "Experience the full power of the Holy Spirit."  Can you imagine a Lutheran church - a Methodist church - a Baptist Church now speaking in tongues?

ACTS  (1:8; 2:4; 4:8; 4:3, etc.) - Throughout the entire manual, you see quotes of their scriptural support from the book of Acts. Hello!  Rightly Dividing the word of truth takes care of that problem and if ever ALPHA was presented with Rightly Dividing the word of truth, ALPHA would fold and die instantly!

Salvation - Here is their "Prayer of Commitment" they ask people to make - this is what makes a person a Christian, according to ALPHA!  Pg 75 ALPHA manual
    I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life.  Please forgive me.  I now turn from everything which I know is wrong.  I thank you that you died for me so I could be forgiving and set free.  I thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit.  I now receive that gift.  Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit and be with me forever.

What a crock - there is NO salvation in that! None!!!  It is all based on Acts 2:38 and the modern perverted teaching that asking God for forgiveness is what Biblical Salvation is.  A LIE!  A DAMNING LIE!

Classical Evangelism is from words, limited to practical history. (You are right - in those days, it was the WORDS of God that people evangelized with!)
Holistic Evangelism is based on works, not super-spiritualism.  (they ought to read I Corinthians 2:9-16, Ephesians 2:8,9, Titus 3:5,6; Romans 3:20; Romans 11:6; Galatians 2:16; Romans 6:23 - and also Acts 16:31; John 3:16; John 3:18, etc. etc. etc.  It wouldn't hurt for them to read I Corinthians 1:18,21 in regards to preaching being foolishness to them that perish - but to us which are saved it is the power of God!!!!)

Power of the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:37-41; 3:1-11; 4:13-14; 6:7 (Acts WRONGLY DIVIDED!)

God guides us through the Bible, Prophecies, Dreams, Visions, Audible Voice, Angels & Feelings!
(Boy, let me preach to those folks on Revelation 16; Matthew 24; I Thessalonians 2:9,10 etc. and how that is EXACTLY how the devil operates these last days and into the Tribulation.  Folks - here it is.  In their manuals.  Being taught throughout the whole ecumenical world!!!!!!!)

How to be filled with the Holy Spirit - through speaking in tongues as an experience!

God is into healing today.  Read the Gospels and Acts 2:38.  (Wrong - again, wrongly dividing the Scriptures damns folks to an eternal lake of fire!)

Wear a cross - it is the answer to all problems! (Do you folks who STILL wear a cross now see where that fits into modern Christianity?  True Bible Believing Christians don't wear crosses as a symbol of Christianity - WE CARRY AND READ A BIBLE EVERYWHERE WE GO!

How did you do?  Can you see the dangers in those questions?  You had better know the answers to those questions parents - your kids will ask those very questions and if you don't have the right answer, you might as well kiss your kids good-bye to Ecumenicalism!
Conclusion

I have noticed in my recent readings and observations from Modern Christians, that they all seek the same desires from those seeking to 'experience God.'

People today:

Trusting their Feelings!
Seeking Worldly Happiness!
Attendance Concerns (Mega)!
Children HAVE to have 'fun!'
Getting teens 'involved' on their own terms!
Building attractive facilities!
The use of Music as their main source of 'everything!'
No preaching, no pressure!
No authoritative Doctrine!
No life-walk changes are  necessary!
No Judgment!
Returning to the early church of Acts 2!

In Bible Believing Churches too!
Besides the fear of people being ignorant of the devils devices, I am also afraid that I am beginning to see the same 'desires' in the Bible Believing Churches.  Yes, I am seeing those same characteristics and 'needs & desires' popping up in Bible Believing Churches.

If you see them too, you had better do something about it.  You are in the process of being ecumenicalized!
But then, maybe that doesn't bother you!

Well, it bothers me.
I know people I love and care who are about to be or already are involved with ALPHA!

Come on folks, open your ears and eyes - the devil is more obvious today than ever before and I am shocked at how many Bible Believing Christians STILL DON'T SEE WHAT IS GOING ON!

You do know that in I John 4:1-3, God tells us how to test something to see if it is of God!  ALPHA fails that test miserably!  We also see in I Timothy 4:1 that many will fall to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.  ALPHA is a doctrine of the devil and is seducing people all over the world - INCLUDING AMERICA!

We can't forget that in Mark 5:6, evil spirits even worshipped Jesus and had 'good' things to say about the truth in order to seducingly snooker people into an imitation salvation!!!!!!!!!!  See Mark 5:6; Acts 19:15; Acts 16:17

We MUST warn our friends & family.  The devil is turning up his deceptions and only the KJB will sort the truth from the false today!

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  Romans 10:14,15

We need to make the OBVIOUS to us OBVIOUS to them!
Our friends and family - people we truly love - they are being conned!  And as they get deeper and deeper into the con, it is harder and harder for them to get out!

II Timothy 4:2-5 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

The time HAS COME!  People can't and won't endure sound doctrine.
They are turning to fables EVERYWHERE!
ALPHA is the newest and biggest!

II Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Jude 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 17-23  But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
