Biblical Parenting

In todays world, it has become apparant that the 'children come first'.  Well, as wonderful as that sounds and supposedly shows how much you love your children, that very philosophy for children is completely opposite of what God says regarding the raising and care for children.

The following is a Biblical account of what the Scriptures themselves say about raising children.  Be sure to actually turn the pages in your KJV 1611 Bible as the power of God rests in His words, not in our 'summaries' or 'messages' about His words.  Please remember, that as you raise your children, Heb 13:9 has a lot to say about one key ingredient that is missing from some families or has too much in other families.

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.
For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace;
not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Hebrews 13:9

A True Description of Children

PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING YOUR KIDS
IN PROVERBS.

(1) We are to teach your child that God is to be preeminent in his life for salvation
and living in His proper order.
Pr. 1:7
(2) The subject of immorality should be considered frequently and plainly.
Pr. 2:16-22; 5:1-23; 6:23-35; 7:1-27; 9:13-18
(3) Your child must be shown that only a personal appropriation of wisdom will protect him from sin.
Pr.2:10,11
(4) Your child must be shown that God does not look lightly upon those who shun instruction.
Pr. 1:24-32
(5) As a Father, you should have a serious attitude.
Contrary to the philosophy and attitude so prevalent in church kids today,
the mood of the instruction given in Proverbs is serious and intense.
(6) Instruction should be plain, direct, pointed, and should not fear being negative;
this is the style of Proverbs.
(7) The law of sowing and reaping should be emphasized!
Pr. 5:22
(8) God should be portrayed as the exciting Source of every good thing,
as the One who personally & urgently seeks men and desires their love in return
Pr. 1:20-23; 8:1-36; 9:1-12
