| We
are Called Out to Live Turned From Unto! |
Part II
November 11, 2007
p.m. service
Tonight, we
answer these questions from part I.
You know, as Christ cut our soul
away from our flesh,
we would think that we could
at least try to cut our flesh away from the world?
-
Are there any benefits of living
a separated life?
-
What is holding some of us back from
a life of more separation?
-
Where are we guiding (pushing) our
children towards? Christ or the World?
-
For what are we guiding our children
towards? Eternal life with Christ or fighting Christ?
-
For who are we guiding our children
towards? Christ or Belial?
-
Who is Belial?
14.
Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for
what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion
hath light with darkness?
15.
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth
with an infidel?
16.
And
what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple
of the living God;
as God
hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people.
17.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing;
and
I will receive you,
18.
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith
the Lord Almighty.

Corinthians 6:14-18
I. Principles
and Standards
Verse 14
- Be ye not unequally yoked together with
unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?
-
righteousness with unrighteousness?
-
light with darkness?
-
neither are the same - total opposites!
-
Our righteousness? No, we have
HIS!
-
John 3:19 -
And this is the condemnation, that light
is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil.
-
Ephesians 5:8
- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now
are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
-
I Thessalonians
5:5 - Ye are all the children of light,
and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
-
I Corinthians
4:5 - Therefore judge nothing before the
time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things
of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then
shall every man have praise of God.
-
Acts 26:18
- To open their eyes, and to turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified
by faith that is in me.
-
Romans 2:19
- And art confident that thou thyself art
a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
-
Romans 13:12
- The night is far spent, the day is at
hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on
the armour of light.
-
One can not mix
Light with Darkness.
-
John 1:5 -
And the light shineth in darkness; and
the darkness comprehended it not.
-
But the colors
light and dark mixed = gray - the 'color' of the Laodicean church age -
neither hot nor cold - the Tribulation. Getting closer and closer,
eh!
We, who have the very righteousness
of God imputed to our account - and are made the righteousness of God,
we can have pleasure in unrighteousness?
-
Romans 1:18
- For the wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness;
-
Romans 3:4-6
- God forbid: yea, let God be true, but
every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in
thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. But if our unrighteousness
commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous
who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how
shall God judge the world?
-
Romans 9:14
- What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness
with God? God forbid.
-
Today's unrighteousness that we 'teach'
or allow, our children could end up carrying over to the Tribulation!
-
II Thessalonians
2:10 - And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that
they might be saved.
-
II Thessalonians
2:12 - That they all might be damned who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
-
Satan's ministers
are ministers of righteousness - but that righteousness is certainly not
of God.
-
Romans 10:2,3
- For
I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
-
God has not 'learned'
how to live co-existing with Satan's works.
-
God just paid
for that unrighteousness by taking care of the law!
-
Romans 10:4
- For Christ is the end of the law for
righteousness to every one that believeth.
-
Mingle with unrighteousness
and you can get dirty!
-
I Corinthians
15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications
corrupt good manners.
-
I Thessalonians
5:22 - Abstain from all appearance of evil.
-
II Thessalonians
3:1-3 - Finally,
brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course,
and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered
from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord
is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
-
Proverbs 27:12
- A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and
hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
-
II Corinthians
2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage
of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
II. Allegiance
Verse 15a
- And what concord hath Christ with Belial?...
-
ALLEGIANCE, The tie or obligation
of a subject to his Prince or government; the duty of fidelity to a king,
government or state. Every native or citizen owes allegiance to the
government under which he is born. This is called natural or implied
allegiance, which arises from the connection of a person with the society
in which he is born, and his duty to be a faithful subject, independent
of any express promise.
-
CONCORD, n. [L., the heart.]
Agreement between persons; union in opinions, sentiments, views or interests;
peace; harmony.
-
BELIAL,
n. As a noun,
unprofitableness; wickedness. As an adjective, worthless; wicked.
In a collective sense, wicked men.
-
Belial is more than just 'Satan - it
is wickedness / wicked men, etc..
-
It is like the thinking Christ would
go to a bar to witness, etc. ... the false 'excuse' saying that He
would eat with anyone, etc.
-
Note - the Publicans came to him!
-
Matthew 9:10
- And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at
meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down
with him and his disciples.
-
Two masters?
-
Jesus even said you can't have two masters
- Matthew 6:24 -
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love
the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot
serve God and mammon.
-
Implied allegiance!
-
I Corinthians
6:19,20 - What? know ye not that your body
is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God,
and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify
God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
-
Allegiance to
God, to Satan, to things, to others, to teachers, professors, pastors,
etc. or just even to self?
-
Proverbs 29:25
- The fear of man bringeth a snare: but
whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
-
You see more and
more of this today! Jude 16 -
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their
mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration
because of advantage.
-
Maybe you are
in bondage - allegiance to OT designed rules and reject Paul's teachings?
-
Galatians 5:1
- Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith
Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
-
Galatians 3:3
- Are ye so foolish? having begun in the
Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
III. People and
Faith
Verse 15b
-
...or what part hath he that believeth with
an infidel?
-
INFIDEL, a. [L. infidelis;
in and fidelis; faithful.] Unbelieving; disbelieving the inspiration of
the Scriptures, or the divine institution of Christianity.
-
INFIDEL,
n. One who disbelieves
the inspiration of the Scriptures, and the divine origin of Christianity.
-
A true believer has heard the word of
truth, the gospel of their salvation; has believed 'in' and then believed
'on' when he called upon Christ and trusted Him for what He said to him
in that KJB!.
-
A true believer also knows the seriousness
of rightly dividing a King James 1611 Holy Bible to be the Holy Scriptures
today - that which is perfect has come!
-
Anything less is a false sword - an
imitation; another spirit, another Jesus - a gospel preached that is accursed
in God's eyes and according to Paul, ALL gospel preached today must match
with Paul's teachings, etc.
-
Today's Christianity is based on sight
- the flesh.
-
Today's Christianity is based on their
own faith - they know nothing of Christ's faith!
-
Romans 3:22
- Even the righteousness of God which is
by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:
for there is no difference:
-
Galatians 2:16:
Knowing
that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith
of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might
be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the
law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
-
Galatians 2:20
- I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless
I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me,
and gave himself for me.
-
Galatians 3:22
- But the scripture hath concluded all
under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given
to them that believe.
-
Philippians
3:9 - And be found in him, not having mine
own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the
faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
-
We are different
people than the rest - be they lost or a 'modern' Christian!'
-
We have a new
life!
-
We have a new
man we put on!
-
We have a new
nature!
-
Our soul has been
cut away from our flesh!
-
We have a cleaned
soul!
-
We have the Spirit
of God in us!
-
We have Christ
in us!
-
We have His very
WORDS from 'at His mouth."
-
We are now light
holding the Light in that KJB!
-
We have no imputed
sin!
-
All things are
become new!
-
We live for the
kingdom of God, not the kingdom of heaven!
-
We are to put
on the new man!
-
The old man is
to be crucified!
-
Yes, we must go in to bring them out,
but we are NOT to have a concord - an allegiance - a commitment - a bondage
- a closeness - a fellowship, etc.
-
But what part hath he that believeth
with an infidel? What part?
-
We are not "better than anyone,'
but we are different and we are suppose to behave differently and do different
things than we used to!
-
Titus 2:14
- Who gave himself for us, that he might
redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works.
-
Romans 6:21
- What fruit had ye then in those things
whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
-
Philippians
1:20 - According to my earnest expectation
and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness,
as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether
it be by life, or by death.
IV. Religion
Verse 16.
And what agreement hath the temple of
God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God;
-
Old Testament designed temples following
Old Testament styled worship today.
-
Gospels are still Old Testament
-
Hebrews 9:14-16
-
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works
to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new
testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions
that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive
the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must
also of necessity be the death of the testator.
-
Acts 17:18-26
-
Then certain
philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And
some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter
forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know
what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? For thou bringest
certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these
things mean. (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent
their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens,
I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I
passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription,
TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I
unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing
that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with
hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any
thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath
made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the
earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of
their habitation;
-
I Corinthians
11:3,4
-
But I fear,
lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so
your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For
if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or
if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
-
I Timothy 6:3-5
-
If any man
teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of
our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of
words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing
that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
-
I Corinthians
4:14-17
-
I write
not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though
ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers:
for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I
beseech you, be ye followers of me. For this cause have I sent unto you
Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring
you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where
in every church.
If
this is all so - then...
...as
God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;
and
I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
16b
Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord
and
touch not the unclean thing;
and
I will receive you,
17
And
will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith
the Lord Almighty.
18
Next - Part III
What keeps us from
really truly and honestly believing in the need for separation?
