I have been hearing from family after family telling me that their homeschooling apparently didn't work -   that their older kids are going 'sour' with the KJV - with church - with doing right, etc. etc. etc. and more and more etc.!

• ...A fool despiseth his father's instruction... Proverbs 15:5a
• ...a foolish man despiseth his mother. Proverbs 15:20
• ...He that betgetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: the father of a fool hath no joy.  Proverbs 17:21b
• ...A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.  Proverbs 17:25
• ...A foolish son is the calamity of his father... Proverbs 19:13
• ...He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. Proverbs 19:26
• ...he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.  Proverbs 28:7
• ...There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.  Proverbs 30:11

Well, we certainly can't forget that our children are our spiritual fruit and more often than not, our children are a true product of our Christianity - or the lack of it!
Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

But there also many out there who can't just sit around and condemn ourselves for trying, either!  I John 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

But, we do need to figure this thing out while we still have children left in our homes to homeschool!

Let's consider what I believe to be a serious trend these days and see if we can identify it and get it our of our lives!
Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

John 12:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. It could be that the stuff taught to them just hasn't gone from their head to their heart yet.

But I also figure there is more to all this than just a few imperfect parents not doing the greatest job teaching their children - you know, by missing some good preaching influence and church going, etc. You know, all the norms that all of us mess up with on occasion.

The trend today is for families to try to do what the church has failed to do - and that is bring the kids up spiritual and happy!  That seems to be the basic goals - be spiritual and be happy!

In all reality, I will admit that the local church has hurt the family by separating the teens and kids from the realm of the parents all in the name of Sunday School and teen activity, etc.

BUT... the church has only tried to do what the parents expected and demanded over these past years.  "Here, you take them - we are too busy!  YOU make my kids spiritual!"  The home wasn't trying and yet they expected the pastor and the Sunday School teachers & youth pastors to do it all for them!

(And when a pastor or youth director DID gain some headway with the teens/kids reading and learning their Bible - and actually leading toward doing right - and making some spiritually convicting decisions in their lives, then the parents would get mad and pull their kids away and sometimes out of the entire church anyway!)

• If church is not 'family friendly,' or if it gets to seeking modern ways to keep people coming...
• If the family continues to blow it educationally or spiritually, or if they get involved with modern philosophy with modern education methods...
• If dad still doesn't get involved and has the wife/mom run the educational show...
• If dad doesn't teach rightly divided Biblical doctrine, but only on 'doing right around the house according to mom's complaining and concerns about the lack of spiritual growth with the kids, etc....
• If mom loses all respect for the dad because she has constantly told him what to do, so he does it, and so as she has to direct the whole program thus she falls away from her husband and falls for modern methods that make false claims of successful and spiritual children - all out of her own frustration and personal selfish misery, etc.
• If the kids are 'forced' to live a godly life even though mom and dad don't show it naturally...

The Bible warns about vain babblings increasing unto more ungodliness, men drowning in destruction & perdition, the word of God being choked, erring from the faith, piercing themselves through with many sorrows, etc.  All in the name of being promised liberty with great swelling words of vanity and through much wantonness (fun), etc.

Read I Timothy 6:3-21; II Timothy 3:15,16; II Peter 2:1-3, 18-20,22 to see a few of the warnings that hit the modern homeschool movement right between the eyes.  We can't honestly say that God hasn't warned us parents & pastors!  He has!  Read those verses again - slowly!

First, let's look at the big picture in regards to educating our kids at home.

Turn to Luke 5:37-39

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

Public schools have already taken out the 'old materials' and have replaced them with new materials like Harry Potter, new math, evolution, horrible reading skills, etc. etc.
Public schools have recently changed the methods to be more 'fun' and 'less' restricting to the tykes.

Homeschools came about because we wanted to change the materials back to the good Bible stuff and actually teach our kids how to read, rite and rith ma's tic!

I have seen homseschoolers throw out the new modern materials of the public system, but now I see more and more of today's homeschoolers throwing out the old methods these days.

If your kids can't write or if they can't read; if they can't even write down their thoughts; if they don't know the truth about history and the future; if they have no memorization skills or training; if they don't know numbers and what to do with them; or/and if they don't know that God CREATED as compared to evolution, etc. then you have failed your children, even if they do dress right, talk right, eat right and think right and plan on staying around the home for their whole lives to help ma & pa with the ranch!

Without those old fashioned knowledge skills, they can't do anything with their Bible nor will they even want to do anything with their Bible!  They will always need their parents or a pastor to guide them spiritually, physically and mentally!

By emphasizing heavily Christian holiness and godliness but not having it properly divided in the teaching as to the why's and wherefore's, etc. - going to Matthew, Acts, Hebrews & James, etc. today's Christian  kids are being led to even more ungodliness, a false salvation, a false Christianity - just further and further away from the Book and from God and into a life of disaster and misery with their families as they most assuredly won't want what they were brought up in.

They know nothing of true Godly repenting because of God's goodness, etc.  Their bearded suspenders-wearing dads teach their children the way of the OT Law, and my sermons of recent have proven that without a shadow of doubt, joy is not based on our walk, but in close fellowship with Jesus Christ!

The Holiness Movement is catching on in the homeschool crowd big time - and if you read I Timothy 6:3-21; II Timothy 3:15,16; II Peter 2:1-3, 18-20,22 you will see the specific warnings described only as God can say it!

If you do not understand the language of learning, and many parents don't (ha, neither do most teachers, these days), then a good verse to apply would be I Corinthians 14:11 which says  Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

The publishers and 'seasoned' instructors - the 'change agents' of modern education can make a parent tow to them totally - and now, home school curriculums use words and flattery to get parents to follow them as the same as do the dangerous public school change agents!

For some reason today, home school parents are getting further away from "knowledge," as did the public schools over the past years.

Following the biblical order of learning, wisdom is not attained without understanding and understanding is not attained until knowledge is acquired.

...because it takes a parent to TEACH KNOWLEDGE to their children.  It takes a parent to TEST their children to see if they learned the knowledge that was taught.  It takes a parent to review and reteach as necessary.  It takes WORK!

In the movie God's and Generals, General Jackson gives us a good example when he tells his academy class that because they didn't learn the lesson for that day, they will be taught the same lesson tomorrow - word for word.

May I say something to you parents - Homeschooling is NOT easy nor will it ever be - even AFTER they graduate!  It is not always fun - it is not always innovative - it doesn't always have to have a non-threatening atmosphere - but it always takes a sacrifice on the part of the parents - on a daily basis, especially the mother.  There is no simple formula to make your kids "godly!"  Each one needs the Lord, but each one has his own personality and life that you will have to direct as their parent!

Proverbs 31 is not an easy life, ladies! And it is not a fair life. As a preacher recently said, "Ladies, it is not fair that you have to get up earlier in order to read your bible and pray, but you won't get it done any other time!"

If the mom has her own selfish agenda she wants to accomplish in her own life, as most modern ladies have brought up to believe, then her children WILL suffer!  Those projects and personal things, unless the kids can be involved, the mother just may have to forgo those things until later years.  Her natural love is for her children and to her husband.  If she puts herself first, then she is developing and teaching an unnatural love.

I believe all those things can be accomplished... but it takes an old fashioned homeschool design to accomplish it.

Some mothers think it is to hard to do the testing thing!  They just don't like to see their little kids make mistakes.  Pride!  Our children these days are growing up not being able to handle pressure, disappointment, failure. The boys are being taught to be like girls and girls are being taught to be like boys.  They are!  And the Bible says that they will.

I agree, by the way, that learning is more than just textbooks only - of course - but to throw them out totally is not the way.  Sitting at a table doing school work is not all that bad.  It teaches knowledge, it teaches discipline that will some day turn into self-discipline, it even gives the mom the chance to do other preparations for the rest of the day's school work and may even free her for a few moments of her own life.

But to try to incorporate all this new method stuff into the day is killing moms that I am watching trying to win their kids over to godliness and holiness - and at that, most of those kids want nothing to do with it when they are out of the home - if not even before.

Words: Non-threatening, fun, dynamic growth, successful, fun - faith - friendship, renew, reach the unreached, new, innovative, exterior improvement with interior change.
They say: discuss what you feel and think!  Experience love!  Provide welcome and gentle facilitation.
Hear them say it is wonderful to learn that learning is not all about rules, but relationships; not a philosophy but a fantastic person and it does relate to modern lifestyles.  Revolutionize your home!  See further growth!  Have healed relationships, see dangerous lifestyles overcome, give their hearts to Christ, see marriages restored and lives transformed.  Prepare your kids for the 21st Century.

The Scriptures tell us exactly what those words you see in the school materials & church catalogues are: They are Good words, fair speeches deceiving the hearts of the simple; vain words; great swelling words; words of vanity; enticing words of man's wisdom; wisdom of words making power of the cross of none effect; having persons in admiration because of advantage!

The old landmark - the old fashioned way of education - enter not into the new fields - the fields of the fatherless - the field where God is absent, other than by His grace for the ones saved...

Church - KJV folks are trying to make the local church to be the church without spot in regards to the walk and purity of the people in it.  As a result, even the KJV churches are going down the tubes these days.

Pastors - pulpits are filling up with liars, queers, women while the real pastors quit or are starved out of the pulpits!

Evangelists - people can't endure sound doctrine!

Teachers - people are wanting to learn easy fables instead of sound doctrine!

Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom is being replaced with worldly understanding and worldly earthly wisdom because knowledge is being thrown out!

Grace, truth, walk, joy, liberty, etc. are all becoming ecumenical in their definition and practice!

The Home:
    Dad - most are just still too busy to care and are letting mom do all the stuff regarding the home!
    Mom - women are either too busy being deceived by the devil or yaking to their friends - while the rest today are just working their own career and farming out their children!
    Kids - They are either public school educated with Harry Potter, etc. and are not able to read, etc. or they are homeschooled by parents that want the 'new' methods to win their children's happiness and peace in the home.

Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet.  But they said, We will not hearken...

Homeschooling Organizations are more ecumenical than ever these days - and because of that modern ecumenical flavour, they are to blame for increasing ungodliness in these new methods and materials.

But the increase in ungodliness among the home is the fault of the dads who have given over the schooling responsibilities (as well as other things in the home) to the mother.

• We can not go to new materials - they are not solid doctrinal KJV rightly divided materials!
• We can not go to new methods - they don't teach knowledge!
• We can not become the new man - the boys will learn to be like women, etc.
• We can not fall for the new motive - wrongly divided old testament godliness and holiness preached by old men in beards and suspenders!
