Dropping Big Names & School backgrounds
I have in my past the following 'big name preachers:'  Dr. Peter S Ruckman; Dr. Jack Hyles; Dr. James Modlish; Dr. Samuel Gipp; Richard Jordan; Dr. Rick Sowell - along with a long long list of 'smaller' names.  Those men have been instrumental in my growth as a Christian as well as a pastor - in more ways than they or anyone else knows.

But today we have had to go beyond following any names or teachings just because these guys say what they say or because of their popularity or self-proclaimed success 'on the field.'  I have seen that most men now try to imitate their spiritual guru, anyway, instead of being led with fresh material each week, etc..  We have observed more than once that most preachers seem to preach what and how their hero has taught them, which is not necessarily always the Book!

We no longer "subscribe" to any particular "camps" as they are called among the brethren.

Successful Church Backgrounds & Philosophies
There are more and more 'big church and Bible instituted backgrounds' that we not only do not support, but we will not even have them in our pulpit.  No offence is meant from us but we don't need any 'modern successful church building and numbers attracting programs and philosophies' to be a 'blessing' to us here in Touchet.  God has been doing just fine here without those modern compromising false gospel programs.  We may not be growing in huge numbers, but we continue to grow in and with the Book!

Great Commission vs Greater Commission
I do not believe nor will I preach supporting the "Great Commission."  I will not allow it to be preached here. It is a false gospel if preached TO us today as it does not align with Paul's gospel.  I preach what I call the Greater Commission from Paul and it is the Greater Commission that will continue to be preached in this pulpit!

P.S. - Do not label us a Hyper, either!  We do not ignore the OT nor do we ignore the Gospels, Acts, Hebrews, James, I II Peter, I II III John, Jude and Revelation.  These books are not written TO us, nor are they directed TO us.  They are for us to learn from only.

We do know use properly what portions of that Bible are written TO us as compared to all that which is FOR us.

The Gospel Jesus teachings vs The Risen Christ's teachings to Paul for him to teach TO us?
We don't preach Jesus' teachings unless they are through Paul.  We are going to be judged by Paul's gospel so we may as well preach his gospel as well.  I believe his gospel is far more than just I Corinthians 15:1-5 - it is Romans through Philemon with Acts being a transitional book from Peter's gospel of the circumcision to Paul's gospel of the uncircumcision.

Hebrews through Jude is written to those folks in the Tribulation, so we don't claim those books as TO us today anymore than we claim the Gospels TO us today either - let alone the Old Testament.  You wouldn't build a boat for salvation so why preach the Beatitudes, Matthew 28 or Mark 16, etc. to us today, either.  We will leave that stuff to the Pentecostals, the cults and to the Purpose Driven, ALPHA modern Christians - they preach another Jesus, not the real Risen Christ!

We don't believe we are to follow Jesus' example from the Gospels.  We don't believe we are to follow in His gospel footsteps; those footsteps were for the Jews to follow - not the Gentiles.  We, as Gentiles and now Church of God / Christians, are to follow Paul - and Paul will teach us all that the RISEN Christ taught to Paul as our apostle.

Music Ministries
As an added bonus, please note that I am a former music teacher and have written and preached many sermons on the crumbling of music in our churches today.  We sing the old hymns - we will sing no modern wishy washy cartoon oriented fableistic spiritual songs and will sing a few Psalms properly, as we learn of them.

In fact, I doubt you can talk me into having your family sing or have you or your wife sing or play any specials.  I would be glad to tell all the particulars to that statement when you are here, but suffice it to say, if you are bringing along a music ministry with you, you probably won't be able to present it here - ESPECIALLY if you are from the South, North, East or Western part of this country. It seems that God's praises are being polluted in all parts of our country today.

I see today that just about all churches now have the flesh being hyped in their music, whether it be hillbilly, modern gospel or even 'classical' - they are either performances or rah rah sessions.  Sad to see that happen.

Images vs Words
I also preach hard against 'images' such as Bible videos that portray a visual image of Christ, etc.  I am flat against the Passion of the Christ and also Chick's movie on the Light...  Images have taken over final authority from the Bible in most churches - including many of the Bible Believing brethren - and we won't support that here.  Most if not all of the kids movies and video bible studies are worldly trash with worldly music - including Patch the Pirate and Veggie tales.

We need to be taught words - we need to preach words - NOT IMAGES!

Guns for a Christian
We enjoy guns - we use guns - we shoot guns - we carry guns - we are supporters of being able to defend our families and church property, etc..  If that bothers you, get one and try it - you may like it.   We even have had a few "Preach-n-Shoots" throughout the year - you are welcome to inquire about them.  A full day of preaching, shooting, eating and fellowship - can it get any better than that?  Well, yes it can, but for now, this works for us!

And yes, guns are ok for Christians to have and use - even carry!

Family Testimony
Final bonus concern:  I would hope that your wife would be a decent godly example of a woman in her following of her husband with her meek and quiet spirit - and I would also expect the husband to care and love his wife as he is directed by Paul, not Peter.

Why do I mention this?  Because I am seeing more and more dysfunctional families come through with disobedient children, rebellious teens, abused wives and clue less men about their families and to us, their testimony of the Book tends to go down the drain if his family is a miserable disobedient mess.  To Train Up a Child is no longer a welcome book here.  It only encourages bondage to the gospels instead of joy, truth and grace from Paul.

YES, We Do Still Love Missionaries!
In spite of how the spirit and attitude of this letter may appear to you, we do still love missionaries.  I just believe that we are all missionaries.  Our webfamily is as much a missionary as we are.  There are few places in this country let alone in the world who are being taught through Paul.

I believe that a missionary can still take Jesus Christ to the lost in foreign countries.  They must, however, present the Risen Jesus Christ through Paul.  If you don't know what that means, then you are not a candidate for our pulpit.  If you do, or would like to know more, consider I Thessalonians 1:5-10 as the missionary 'calling' with the gospel that Paul was given to preach to us..

Church Planting
By the way, we also don't use the word "plant.'  I believe and preach that the body of Christ is the true church - the invisible and universal church - call it what you want, but that is the 'organism' - the body of Christ - someday to be the bride.

The local church is NOT the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against!  The local church is an organization - an assembly.  We are not about to support any church or missionary who will be putting the church above the Book.  Out here in the West, they are called Briders.  In the other parts of the country, I call them Baptist baptists!  To those catholic baptists, the pillar is being lifted above the truth.

There are reasons and purposes for both the local assembly and the universal assembly of brethren!

No Longer a Baptist Church
It seems that when compared to the infamous Baptist Distinctives, now called Biblical Distinctives by more and more pastors, we didn't do well.  As a result, as of March 1, 2008, we have dropped the name Baptist.  We are King James Bible Church of Touchet.  Here is the audio sermon and the notes for that particular subject if you are interested in details.

FYI: We are not hypers; we are not Mid-Acts Pauline; we are not reformed or whatever... we are simply Bible Believers that are returning back to the final authority of the Bible.  We continue to see God take the religion out of us - day by day.  It is so refreshing!
