Paul's Parting Blessings
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Philippians 4:23
Good bye is supposedly the same as saying, "God be with you,"
but Paul was much more specific!

Boy, those folks who 'hate' having God mentioned in anything anyone says
actually mention Him every time they say good-bye to someone!
- isn't that hilarious!!!!


These are how Paul said 'good-bye' to the brethren at the end of his writings.  If we would ever care about 'others' as much as Paul did, we can consider saying some of the same things to our friends and brethren when we depart, etc.  Paul had reasons for what he said, and he had some messages in those departures.

Very interesting and very unique sermon...  The audio will have far more preaching than these notes put forth.  Listed below are only the verses that I preach on - the real stuff is in the audio.  I went into this sermon with not much prepared other than these verses, but I knew some preaching was in them - and I was right.  God showed us some stuff we ought to consider ourselves when we say good-bye to folks.

Philippians 4:20-13
20: Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21: Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
22: All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.  (see 1:13)
23: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Romans 16:24-27
24:  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
25: Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26: But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
27: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

I Corinthians 16:23,24
23: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
24: My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

II Corinthians 13:11-14
11: Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12: Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13: All the saints salute you.
14: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

Galatians 6:18
18: Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Ephesians 6:23,24
23: Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24: Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Colossians 4:18
18: The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

I Thessalonians 5:23-28
23: And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24: Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25: Brethren, pray for us.
26: Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27: I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

II Thessalonians 3:16-18
16: Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17: The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
