WORSHIP
 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest;
and so falling down on his face he will worship God,
and report that God is in you of a truth.
I Corinthians 14:25

Oh My God!

This particular sermon was done on power point so the actual sermon notes are not available on the website again.  If you are desirous of that CD with the verses etc. all put up on screen, let me know, I can send you the sermon on the cd.  But below is the introduction and the outline we followed.

These are the 'general' notes that I followed:

This is a good conclusion to the importance of one's own personal WORSHIP to God.  The ability to claim the God of Genesis 1:1 as MY GOD is something most Christians don't seem to grasp.

As all of these sermons have been, this is all based on Psalm 68:4 and all tie in with music and the portion that says, ...extol him that rideth on the heavens by his name JAH!  Our music - ALL of our music - exists to worship God, whether it be in direct worship, praise or rejoicings.  Worship is the key in our relationship to God regarding our music!

Note that the phrases that the Bible uses is UNTO GOD; UNTO THE LORD; UNTO THEE; UNTO HIM; UNTO OUR KING; BEFORE HIM; BEFORE THE LORD; BEFORE HIS PRESENCE; BEFORE THE THRONE; TO HIS NAME and UNTO HIS NAME.

That is one-on-one and that is what worship is.  FROM ME TO HIM!

This is only possible through and by the Lord Jesus Christ.  See Revelation 3:20; Ephesians 2:13; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:16,17; Hebrews 10:10, etc.

We first look at Exodus 12:1-5 where we see that everybody needs A lamb, then it mentions THE lamb and finally it mentions YOUR lamb.  We can apply that to us today in that we know that we need A Saviour - THE Saviour is Jesus Christ - is He YOUR Saviour?

We then dig into the Book of Psalms to find out about His Doings and what we are to do them.  The Book of Psalms is our Haven of Rest, our Castle, our Bomb Shelter, our Cleft in the Rock.  It is the book of praises, the book of songs and the book of worship.

I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
Psalm 77:12

His Doings Are:

Marvelous - 9:1; 139:14
Wondrous - 26:7; 71:17; 75:1; 105:2,5
Done in Truth - 33:4
Great - 92:5; 111:2
Manifold - 104:24
Honourable & Glorious - 111:3,4
Power - 111:6
Verity & Judgment - 111:7
Holy - 145:17
Filled with Tender Mercies - 145:9
Terrible - 66:3
More than Can be Numbered - 40:5
Above All Other Works - 86:8

What Should We Do Concerning His Doings in Our Lives?
Remember Them - 77:11; 78:7; 111:4
Talk of Them - 119:27
Tell our Children and Grandchildren - 78:4
Speak of Them - 145:5
Declare:  73:28; 118:17; 145:4
Be Glad:  92:4

I finished the sermon with some great pictures that helped us remind us what Hell is all about and then I gave the folks an assignment for Thanksgiving Sunday.  Unfortunately, those pictures are not 'allowed' onto the internet these days.

Your Assignment, should you wish to do this:

Go through the entire book of Psalms and underline His "doings" to us!  There are plenty of things He does to the wicked, etc. but I am looking for all the things that He does to His children, meaning us!

It is a marvelous study and will help you become even more aware of what the Lord does for us and to us and with us.  He does provide more than just provide food & raiment - and those nice houses, cars, paint guns, etc. etc.  You will be excited.

In fact, it may help your own worship!
